Raymond Louis Kennedy, born November 26, 1946, in Philadelphia, was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer whose work crossed rock, R&B, and jazz. He began playing saxophone at nine, performed in a cappella groups, and appeared on American Bandstand in 1960, after which Dick Clark hired him to mime playing sax for acts such as The Platters and Little Richard.
