Ray Henderson
Ray Henderson, born Raymond Brost on December 1, 1896, in Buffalo, New York, was
an American songwriter. He gained prominence as a composer in Tin Pan Alley, New
York City. Henderson collaborated with Lew Brown and Buddy De Sylva between 1925
and 1930, contributing to musicals like Good News. Notable songs from this
period include "Annabelle" and "Bye Bye Blackbird". His work was featured in
films such as Sleepless in Seattle. Henderson's revival of the Ziegfeld Follies
ran for 553 performances on Broadway in 1943. He passed away on December 31,
