Ray Colcord III (December 24, 1949 – February 5, 2016) was an American film and
television composer, producer, and keyboardist from Manhattan, New York City.
Colcord performed with Roy Head's band before joining Columbia Records as an A&R
representative in 1970. Colcord played keyboards on the Don McLean album
American Pie (1971) and Lou Reed’s live recording Rock n Roll Animal (1974).
After signing Aerosmith to Columbia, Colcord co-produced the band's second
album, Get Your Wings (1974). Colcord moved to Los Angeles in 1973 and composed
