Rachel Sweet, born on July 28, 1962, in Akron, Ohio, is an American singer. She
began her singing career at age three, winning a local talent contest and later
recording commercials from the age of 6. By 12, she was performing in Las Vegas
as the opening act for Bill Cosby. Sweet's first significant breakthrough came
with the release of "B-A-B-Y" (a cover of Carla Thomas' 1966 song) in 1978,
