Born in Carrbridge in Scotland's Highlands region on November 7, 1991, Rachel
Sermanni began singing with her brother and sister, before learning guitar and
composing her first songs. Attracted by folk music, she was performing in clubs
in and around Glasgow, when she met the members of Mumford & Sons after one of
their concerts. From this meeting and the resulting impromptu jam in a pub, she
ended up supporting the band at London's Dingwalls in 2011. The musician then
toured with Fink, Elvis Costello and Rumer, before releasing her debut EP Black
Currents for the Rough Trade lab...
