Purr Machine
Purr Machine are an American electro-industrial group from Los Angeles that
formed in 1996. The ensemble consists of the bassist Kevin Kipnis, the vocalist
Betsy Martin, and the guitarist Kirk Hellie. They began recording as a duo under
the name Kore before expanding their lineup. Their debut release was the EP
Speak Clearly (1999), which featured an adaptation of the song “Girl, You'll Be
a Woman Soon”. The group’s debut studio album, Ging Ging (2000), was released
through Re-Constriction Records and was characterized by a blend of heavy metal
