Prince Alla
Keith Lorenzo Blake, known professionally as Prince Alla, was born on May 10,
1950, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. He started his career with The Leaders,
recording for producer Joe Gibbs in the late 1960s. After the group disbanded,
Blake briefly pursued a solo career. Influenced by Rastafarianism, though, he
withdrew from music in 1969 but returned in the mid-1970s, collaborating with
Teddy Powell on "Born a Fighter" and releasing classic reggae roots tracks such
as "Sun Is Shining" and "Bucket Bottom". He also recorded for Tapper Zukie,
