Polysics
Polysics is a Japanese techno/electronic band from Tokyo known for their
high-energy "technicolor pogo punk" sound. Formed in 1997 by Hiroyuki Hayashi
and influenced by bands like Devo, they signed with Ki/oon Records (a Sony Music
Japan subsidiary) in 2000. Their early albums—Neu (2000) , Eno(2001) , For Young
Electric Pop(2002) —showcased their unique blend of punk energy and
synthesizer-driven melodies. In 2003, they gained international attention with
the release of their National P album and a tour captured on the DVD
PippikkippippiP In USA . Their compilation album Polysics...
