Planet X
Planet X is an American instrumental progressive metal supergroup formed by
Derek Sherinian and Virgil Donati. The group consisted of Sherinian on
keyboards, Donati on drums, and Tony MacAlpine on guitar, with various bassists
including Tom Kennedy and Dave LaRue. The band's debut album, Universe, was
released in 2000, through Inside Out Music, featuring complex compositions like
"King of the Universe" and the hit single "Clonus". Their first live album, Live
from Oz, recorded in Melbourne, Australia, was released in 2002. Subsequent
