Pitura Freska, a reggae music group based in Venice, Italy, was active between
1987 and 2002. The band consisted of Marco Forieri on saxophone and vocals,
Gaetano "Sir Oliver Skardy" Scardicchio on vocals, Francesco Duse and Cristiano
Verardo on guitar, Valerio Silvestri on trumpet, Toni Costantini on trombone,
and Francesco "Ciuke" Casucci on bass. Their breakthrough came with the 1991
album Na Bruta Banda, which sold over 200,000 copies and included the Targa
Tenco-winning song "Pin Floi". In 1997, Pitura Freska entered the Sanremo Music
Festival with "Papa Nero" ("Black Pope")...
