Pietro Tonolo, born on May 30, 1959, in Mirano, Italy, is a jazz saxophonist and
composer. Initially trained as a classical violinist, Tonolo transitioned to
jazz saxophone and moved to Milan, where he collaborated with notable Italian
musicians such as Franco D'Andrea and Enrico Rava. In 1982, he joined the Gil
Evans Orchestra, performing with esteemed artists like Steve Lacy and Lew
Soloff. Throughout his career, Tonolo has released numerous albums, including
Sotto La Luna (1999) and Your Songs: The Music of Elton John (2007). He was a
