Pierre Dervaux
Pierre Jean Émile Dervaux, born on January 3, 1917, in Juvisy-sur-Orge, France,
was a conductor and composer. He studied piano at the Conservatoire de Paris
under Isidor Philipp and Yves Nat. Dervaux's conducting career began with the
Orchestre Pasdeloup in 1945. From 1947 to 1953, he served as conductor at the
Opéra-Comique. He was the permanent conductor at the Opéra de Paris from 1956 to
1972 and led the Orchestre des Concerts Colonne for over 30 years. Dervaux also
