Nguyễn Phan Phương Dung, known professionally as Phương Dung, born August 9, 1946 in Gò Công, South Vietnam, is a Vietnamese singer. She began singing at age 11 after participating in a Saigon vocal competition in 1957. Her breakthrough arrived in 1962 with the hit single “Nỗi buồn gác trọ”, followed by “Những đồi hoa sim” (1964) and “Tạ từ trong đêm” (1965), which earned her the gold medal for Best Singer in 1965.
