Ph.D. is a British pop rock group formed in 1981, comprising Jim Diamond on
vocals, Tony Hymas on keyboards, and Simon Phillips on drums. The band's name is
an acronym of the initials of its founding members, as well as a nod to the
title of the doctoral degree Philosophiæ Doctor. Ph.D.'s breakthrough moment
came with their debut single "Little Suzi's On The Up", which was notable for
being the fifth video aired on MTV's inaugural day. Their self-titled debut
