Peter and the Test Tube Babies, formed in 1978 in Peacehaven, England, emerged
from a punk‑rock scene that favored raw energy and satirical lyrics; the
original line‑up comprised Peter Bywaters on vocals, Derek “Del Strangefish”
Greening on guitar, Chris “Trapper” Marchant on bass, and Mark “Ogs” Hoggins on
