Peter Almqvist, born 17 July 1957 in Lund, was a Swedish jazz guitarist whose
early exposure to music came from his father's record collection and a pivotal
influence after hearing the Beatles. He refined his technique under London
guitarist Ike Isaacs before co‑founding the acoustic duo Guitars Unlimited with
Ulf Wakenius. Almqvist collaborated with pianist Horace Parlan on Peter Almqvist
Trio with Horace Parlan (1997), and issued My Sound in 2000. He toured with Art
Farmer, worked with violinist Svend Asmussen, and passed away on 6 April 2015.
