Penchy Castro
Penchy Castro, also known as El Galán del Vallenato, is a Columbian singer
championing the vallenato tradition.
Born in Valledupar, Penchy Castro grew up in a musical family near Alfonso López
square, home of the Vallenato Festival. He grew up listening to live
performances by the likes of Alejo Durán, Alberto Pacheco, Hernando Marín,
Máximo Móvil and Luis Enrique Martínez, developing a love of the region's music
thanks to their performances.
