Pelo D'Ambrosio—born Sergio D’Ambrosio Robles on December 17, 1965, in Huánuco,
Peru—emerged from a musically rooted family, trained in classical piano before
delving into folk, country, rock, and Andean traditions. He co-founded the band
Pata Amarilla in the early 1990s, serving as lead vocalist, guitarist, and
arranger, and released his breakthrough solo album Lejos de ti in 2010,
featuring the title track which became a pan-Latin American hit covered in
