Pedro Arroyo, born on November 7, 1957 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, was a singer
known for his contributions to salsa music. He began his musical journey at an
early age, taking guitar lessons and performing with the Tuna Estudiantil del
colegio at Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Guaynabo. In 1981, he formed his own
orchestra called La Nueva and released their first singles "Embrujado con Puerto
Rico" and "Lo que me gusta." He also participated in the telenovela Rojo Verano.
