Pauline Julien
Pauline Bibiane Julien, born on May 23, 1928, in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, was a
Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her artistic career in 1947
by joining the theater troupe Les Comédiens de la Nef in Quebec, followed by La
Compagnie du Masque in Montreal in 1948. She moved to Paris in August 1951,
where she began singing in cabarets in 1955, performing works by lyricists such
as Léo Ferré and Boris Vian, who wrote the song “Sous son chapeau de cloche” for
her. Returning to Quebec, she shifted her repertoire to focus on Quebecois
authors, including Gilles Vigneault...
