Paul Wetstein, also known as Paul Weston, was born on March 12, 1912, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and was an American pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor. He formed his own band, the Green Serenaders, during his time at Dartmouth College and sold his first arrangements to Joe Haymes in 1934. Weston joined Tommy Dorsey's orchestra in 1936 and later worked with Dinah Shore, moving to Hollywood for film work. In California, he met Johnny Mercer, who invited him to write for Capitol Records.
