Pattie Brooks, born on March 17, 1943, in Fort Riley, Kansas, is an American
singer who began her career as a backing vocalist. In the mid-1970s, she signed
with Casablanca Records and released her debut album Love Shook with The Simon
Orchestra, which peaked at number 2 on the US Dance Chart in 1977. Her biggest
club hit, "After Dark", was featured in the film Thank God It's Friday and
topped the club play chart for six weeks in 1978. Brooks continued to release
albums, including Our Ms. Brooks (1978), Party Girl (1979), and Pattie Brooks
