Pat Moran, born Helen Mudgett in 1934 in Enid, Oklahoma, is an American jazz
pianist. She studied piano at Phillips University and later at the Cincinnati
Conservatory of Music. Moran began her career as a concert pianist but
transitioned to jazz, founding the Pat Moran Quartet, which later evolved into
the Pat Moran Trio. In the mid-1950s, she released The Pat Moran Quartet for
Bethlehem Records. She also released albums for Audio Fidelity, collaborating
with notable artists such as Mel Tormé and Oscar Pettiford. In 2018, Moran was
inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame.
