Paquito Hechavarria, born Francisco Hechavarria on February 21, 1939, in
Cárdenas, Matanzas, Cuba, was a Cuban pianist. He moved to Havana to study piano
at the Conservatory and began his career playing with notable orchestras such as
Orquesta Riverside, Conjunto Casino, and Felipe Dulzaides y Los Armónicos in the
1950s. In 1962, Hechavarria relocated to Miami and released his first solo
album, Sentimental Piano, in 1965. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he
