Palmenia Pizarro
Palmenia del Carmen Pizarro González (performing as Palmenia Pizarro; born July
19, 1941) is a Chilean bolero, vals peruano, and ballad singer from San Felipe.
Pizarro began a career at age seven and relocated to Santiago at age eleven. In
1962, Pizarro signed with EMI Music following the radio contest Así canta Perú.
Pizarro recorded the tracks “Mi pobreza” and “Amarga experiencia” in 1963.
Following the song “Cariño malo”, Pizarro relocated to Mexico and performed on
