Juan Diego Borda and Andres "Popa" Erazo began the project Polaina Dinamita in
2001 in Bogotá. They moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and established the live
electronic music ensemble Palenke Soultribe. The group performed a fusion of
electronic music and Afro-Colombian rhythms. The ensemble released the EP
Folkloric dekonstruction in 2005 and the studio recording Tropic n' Heaven in
2007. Its discography included the 2009 album Oro, which featured collaborations
