Formed in Tokyo, Japan in 1984, Orquesta de la Luz is a critically acclaimed
salsa group. The band was fronted and led by vocalist Nora, who would remain
their only consistent member. The band began performing live at local clubs,
finally recording a demo tape in 1986. Nora finally traveled to New York in 1988
with the demo tape in order to secure a record contract, which they landed the
following year. In 1990, they released their debut album De La Luz – also known
