The Oblivians, a garage punk trio from Memphis, Tennessee, formed in 1993. The
band consisted of Greg Cartwright, Jack Yarber, and Eric Friedl, who alternated
between instruments on stage and in the studio. Initially known as PP and the
Naildrivers, they later adopted the name Oblivians and each took on the surname
"Oblivian." Their first recording was "On the Go," released posthumously. The
band's debut LP, Soul Food, came out in 1995 via Crypt Records. They followed
with collaborations such as Walter Daniels Plays With Monsieur Jeffrey Evans &
