Noah Howard
Noah Howard, born on April 6, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana, was an American
free jazz alto saxophonist. He first learned trumpet before switching to alto,
tenor, and soprano saxophone. His first recordings as a leader appeared in 1966
with the Noah Howard Quartet on ESP Records, followed by At Judson Hall the same
year. Howard toured the United States and Europe through the 1960s and 1970s,
relocated to Paris in 1968, founded the AltSax label in 1971, which released The
