Nirmala Rajasekar
Nirmala Rajasekar, born in Chennai, India, is a Carnatic Saraswati veena player,
composer, vocalist, and educator. She began her training at age six under Sri
Deva Kottai Narayana Iyengar and Smt. Kamala Aswathama. Rajasekar's career as a
soloist started at 13, and she later studied with Smt. Kalpakam Swaminathan for
nearly 30 years. Her debut album Song of the Veena was released in 2007 by
Innova Recordings, followed by Into the Raga in 2010. Rajasekar has also
