Nicola Di Bari is an Italian singer-songwriter and actor born Michele Scommegna
on September 29, 1940, in Zapponeta. He moved to Milan to pursue a music career
and adopted his stage name in honor of Saint Nicholas, winning a 1961 song
contest with his composition “Piano pianino”. He achieved commercial success in
1964 with “Amore ritorna a casa” before participating in the Sanremo Music
Festival between 1965 and 1967 alongside Gene Pitney. Di Bari earned a major
