Cecil Wellington, known professionally as Nicodemus, was a Jamaican reggae deejay born on June 27, 1957. He began his career in 1976 with the Socialist Roots sound system and later moved to Prince Jammy's sound system in 1978, where he made his first studio recordings later in the decade. His style was compared to that of Prince Far I and Prince Jazzbo. Nicodemus gained significant attention with the hit "Boneman Connection" in 1981 and remained popular throughout the first half of the 1980s.
