Nicholas Barry Chinn (born 16 May 1945 in London) is an English-American
songwriter and producer best known for his partnership with Mike Chapman.
Chinn's career began in 1970 when he co-wrote music for There's a Girl in My
Soup. Soon after, he met Chapman, and the duo joined Mickie Most’s RAK label.
They found early success writing for The Sweet, penning hits like Blockbuster!,
The Ballroom Blitz, and Teenage Rampage.
In the mid-1970s, Chinn and Chapman worked with Suzi Quatro (Can the Can), Mud
