Nicholas David Mrozinski was born on August 14, 1980, in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
and began piano lessons in second grade before taking voice lessons in tenth
grade, developing an early appreciation for classical and jazz. He launched his
recording career in 2004 with the self‑produced acoustic album Four Legged Light
under his own label, Wake the World, and released four subsequent albums and EPs
through 2011, including Say Goodbye, which debuted at number 44 on the Billboard
