Mirco Harald Grunert, known professionally as Nic, was born on April 9, 1981, in
Duisburg, Germany. After completing his education, he trained as an assistant
social pedagogue and worked as a DJ before transitioning into music production.
His breakthrough came when he met music producer Peter Sebastian at an artist
meeting in Dortmund, leading to the release of his debut single "Geschickt
eingefädelt" in 2001. Nic's career gained significant momentum with the release
