Sonia Aletta Nel, known professionally as Nianell, was born on September 25,
1971 in Omaruru, Namibia. She is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and guitarist who
graduated with a three-year diploma in light music from Pretoria Technikon in
South Africa. Her career began to take off after graduating, releasing her debut
album Who Painted the Moon? in 2001. This album achieved platinum status in
