The New Japan Philharmonic is a symphonic orchestra based in Japan. Founded in
1972 with Seiji Ozawa as their honorary conductor laureate, the ensemble
performs at the Sumida Triphony Hall. The group performed orchestral
arrangements for video games such as “Super Smash Bros. Melee” (2001) and
recorded for the album Resident Evil Orchestra (1999). Their work includes film
scores for Joe Hisaishi, such as Spirited Away (2001) and Howl's Moving Castle
