Nathaniel Rateliff was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 7, 1978. Although
finding Top 40 success as frontman of the soulful Americana band Nathaniel
Rateliff & the Night Sweats, he debuted in 2002 with a different act called Born
in the Flood. They released an album, 2007's If This Thing Should Spill, before
Rateliff decided to pursue solo work instead. Under the moniker "Nathaniel
Rateliff and the Wheel," he teamed up with musically-minded friends to create
