Naruyoshi Kikuchi, born on June 14, 1963 in Chiba, Japan, is a jazz musician,
saxophonist, composer, bandleader, writer, and teacher. He started his career in
1985 and initially gained recognition with Yōsuke Yamashita's group and Tsuneo
Imahori's avant-garde band Tipographica. In 1992, Kikuchi founded Spank Happy, a
J-Pop and club music group. He returned to acoustic jazz in 2004 with his debut
solo album Degustation à jazz. Throughout his career, he has released numerous
