Mutabor, a German band from Berlin, was founded in 1991. The group's original
members included Axel Steinhagen and Tilmann Walter, who met in Wismar and
initially performed old student songs. They later moved to Berlin, where they
were joined by Helen Bauerfeind on violin and Katja Kühler on flute. In 1992,
the band officially named themselves Mutabor, derived from the Latin phrase
meaning "I will be transformed." Their early releases included Homunkulus
