Maureen Anne McDonald, better known as Mozella, was born on May 13, 1981, in
Detroit, Michigan, and is an American singer‑songwriter. She began performing in
coffee houses at fifteen, later collaborating with Warren G and Tim Saul. In
2003, she signed to Madonna’s Maverick Records, and she released the EP Mozella
in 2005 and the album I Will in 2006. After Maverick merged into Warner, she
joined Universal/Motown in 2008, issuing the albums Belle Isle (2009) and The
Brian Holland Sessions (2012). She wrote Miley Cyrus’s 2013 hit "Wrecking Ball"
