Ramon Calabuch Batista, known professionally as Moncho, was born on July 26,
1940, in Barcelona, Spain. He grew up in a family of Catalan gypsies and began
singing rumba catalana at a young age. At 16, he performed with the group "Ramón
Evaristo y Orquesta Antillana," marking his first professional engagement.
Moncho's career spanned over four decades, during which he released 34 albums in
Spanish and Catalan, including Moncho El Gitano Del Bolero (1969) and Mis
