Missing Persons is an American rock band founded in 1980 in Los Angeles by
vocalist Dale Bozzio, guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, and drummer Terry Bozzio.
They later added bassist Patrick O'Hearn and keyboardist Chuck Wild. The band's
early years saw them release a self-titled four-song EP in 1980, which included
the hit "Mental Hopscotch" that topped local radio station KROQ-FM. In 1982,
they signed with Capitol Records, re-releasing their EP and achieving
significant success with the single "Words", which reached number 42 on the
