American singer Mimi Goese began her career as a vocalist for the dream pop band
Hugo Largo. Her solo debut came under the mononym "Mimi" with the album Soak,
released on Luaka Bop label in 1998. The album featured contributions from
French record producer Hector Zazou and former Hugo Largo bandmate Hahn Rowe, as
well as a cover of "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Goese
collaborated with Moby on tracks "Into the Blue" and "When It's Cold I'd Like to
Die", both appearing on Moby’s 1995 album Everything Is Wrong. The latter track
