Mieze Katz

Mieze Katz, real name Maria Mummert, was born on May 4, 1979 in East Berlin. In 1997, she founded the electropop band MIA together with Andi Ross (later Andy Penn), Robert Schütze, Ingo Puls and Hannes Schulze. The group achieved great fame in Germany with songs such as "Hungriges Herz" (2004) and "Tanz der Moleküle" (2006). The album Zirkus (2006) reaches number 2 in the German charts and is awarded a gold record. In addition to her work with MIA., Mieze Katz is involved in various musical projects.
