Michael Harrison Sweet, born July 4, 1963 in Whittier, California, was the
co‑founder, songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist of the Christian metal band
Stryper. After early performances in the early 1980s with his brother’s band
Roxx Regime, Michael Harrison Sweet’s breakthrough came with Stryper’s debut
Soldiers Under Command (1985) and hits such as "Honestly" and "Soldiers of the
