Michael English is an American gospel singer who fronted the Gaither Vocal Band
from 1985 to 1992, then rebranded himself as a successful Christian pop artist
during the 1990s. Born on April 12, 1962, in Kenansville, North Carolina, he
launched his career at 10 years old by joining his family's singing group, The
Singing Samaritans. He left the group in 1980, the same year he graduated high
