Michael Cavanaugh, born in 1972 in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American actor and
musician known for his roles as a singer and pianist. He began playing the piano
at age seven and performed his first club show at twelve. In February 2001, he
caught the attention of Billy Joel, leading to his involvement in the Broadway
musical Movin' Out, where he played piano and provided lead vocals from 2003 to
2005. His role earned him a Grammy nomination and a Tony nomination in 2003.
