Mephiskapheles
Mephiskapheles, an American ska band from New York City, was formed in 1989 by
Brendan Tween and Mikal Reich. Initially named Skatterbrains, they changed their
name to Mephiskapheles after discovering another band with the same name. Their
debut performance took place on January 3, 1991. The band released its first
recording, The DEMOn, a four-song cassette that included "Doomsday" and became
popular on radio stations. In 1994, Mephiskapheles released their debut album,
God Bless Satan. The band's video for "Doomsday" received airplay on MTV.
