Melinda Schneider
Melinda-Jane Bean, known professionally as Melinda Schneider, was born on
7 October 1971 in Australia and began performing at age three, later singing
with her mother, yodeller Mary Schneider, on The Magic of Yodelling when she was
eight. After studying dance and acting in A Country Practice, Schneider entered
the music scene with the 1994 single Tighten Up Your Pants, which reached number
39 on the ARIA Chart and secured a three‑album deal with Festival Records,
